The servant thinks that Gulliver changes skins when he sleeps. Gulliver tried to keep himself covered up because he looks like the Yahoos under his clothes. Gulliver tries to explain clothes to the Master Horse. The Master Horse is impressed how pale and soft Gulliver’s skin is. The Master Horse agrees to stop calling Gulliver a Yahoo and to keep the secret about his clothes. Gulliver is finally able to tell the Master Horse how he arrived on the island. Gulliver tells the Master Horse that the Houyhnhnm in his country are the brutes and the men are the reasonable beings.

Gulliver finds out the ship is heading to Lisbon in Portugal. The captain of the ship asks where Gulliver is from and he doesn’t answer. Gulliver tries to jump overboard but someone caught him before he can. When Gulliver tells the captain about Houyhnhnm Land he doesn’t believe him.
